\u00a0Keystone Concerto Festival and
\n<\/strong>Dorothy Sutton\u00a0Performance Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n

State Level Festival Only<\/h3>\n

The PMTA Keystone Concerto Festival (CF) will be held this year on\u00a0Saturday, November 23, 2019<\/span><\/span><\/strong>\u00a0in conjunction with the DSPF Solo and Ensemble Showcase Recitals at\u00a0Penn State, University Park. Students, parents and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend. All registration and scheduling of the CF is done online through this website. Students performing at the CF will receive a certificate and a critique. Performers are not in competition with one another, and will be rated Very Good, Excellent or Superior. Those rated Superior at this performance will receive a gold medal at the end of the day, distributed to their teachers. No specific time requests can be honored.<\/p>\n

Performance Schedule<\/h3>\n

State Coordinator will communicate directly with participating teachers regarding specific performance times<\/p>\n

Eligibility Requirements<\/h3>\n

Teacher: In order to enter students into the CF, the teacher must have paid both local and state dues prior to the deadline for submitting applications on line.<\/p>\n

Student: Any piano or instrumental student (unlimited age, college included) of a PMTA member in good standing is eligible to participate in this festival.<\/p>\n

Registration & Deadlines<\/h3>\n

Online registration begins\u00a0October 1, 2019<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and ends at\u00a03:00 pm EST, Monday, October 25, 2019<\/span><\/span>. Teachers entering students must register online before the deadline. No emails or mail-in forms accepted.\u00a0Teachers will register using the PMTA Festival Registration System.<\/p>\n

Fees & Payments<\/h3>\n

Fees are\u00a0$20.00 per entry<\/strong>\u00a0and must be paid with PayPal or credit card during the online registration process. Note: credit cards are processed via the PayPal site.\u00a0All student entry fees are non-refundable.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Concerto Festival Repertoire<\/h3>\n

Any single movement of a standard concerto or youth concerto, memorized.\u00a0There is no theory requirement for this event.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Performance Time<\/h3>\n

Single movements of standard concertos, with cadenza, may be performed without cuts (though the accompanist is encouraged to omit some tutti material). If a single-movement concerto or other standard work for solo and orchestra is chosen (e.g. Liszt A Major, Prokofiev I, Rachmaninoff Rhapsody), an excerpt of no more than 15 minutes should be performed.<\/p>\n

Musical Scores<\/h3>\n

One original copy of the music must be provided for the judges. Photocopies are prohibited, unless there is express written permission from the publisher. NOTE: CD sheet music is permissible.<\/p>\n

Accompanists<\/h3>\n

The student must provide his\/her own accompanist, which may be the teacher. NOTE: Students entering the state level of the MTNA Competitions\u00a0are encouraged<\/strong>\u00a0to enter the Concerto Festival.<\/p>\n
